The Robert Packard Center for ALS Research at Johns Hopkins enables leading scientists to collaborate and secure funding so that they can share ideas, rapidly make new discoveries, develop new treatments, and ultimately find a cure for the disease, which is also known as “Lou Gehrig’s Disease”. Headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland, and led by ALS experts and a scientific advisory board, the Packard Center funds focused and collaborative work in labs and medical centers around the world. The Packard Center believes that the greatest strides toward treatment and a cure come from this path-breaking, focused, collaborative approach involving pioneering investigators from multiple institutions. Our ultimate goal is to save lives, and our motto is: “The hope is in the science.”
“Our priority is to provide assistance to those who face daily challenges within our key priority areas; Health, Equality, Learning and Poverty (HELP). We aim to: HELP

Mary’s Meals is a wonderful charity that was established by accident by two Scotsmen who just decided that they wanted to help feed children in wartorn and impoverished parts of the world. It has grown from a used Landrover and two bothers driving to Bosnia with food and supplies, to a global organization that is now feeding 1,035,637 of the world’s poorest children every day they attend school.
Their vision is quite simple – every child deserves an education – and enough to eat. Every child receives one daily meal in their place of education and that all those who have more than they need, share with those who lack even the most basic things. Working together with those who share our vision, we believe there is no good reason why this cannot be realized.
